On the broadcast, it didn't look anywhere near as bad, because the person on the motorcycle farthest from the bus must have been getting the footage. So it looked more like there was a stopped bus blocking the course. I'm glad someone got a video that showed the whole thing. And thank goodness everyone was okay.
Hi there, love your work. Thought you might find this interesting, the 2023 IAU 50 km World Championships was held over the weekend in Hyderabad, India. The US Team finished 2nd overall. Brutal race in 87º humid conditions. Andrea Pomaranski (USA) 3:19:07 was second to Carla Molinaro (GBR) 3:18:23.
Oh sorry, I didn't read carefully. You had the race report! Small Boston side note, Ildi Gaal one of the team members, lived n Boston while going to college and grad school. I used to run Harvard Stadium with her. She was FAST. A full Stadium, 37 sections, in under 30 mins is considered pretty good. She was running them in the very low 20s. And by the way, won her age group in the NY Marathon in 2015. Fast, smart and a nice person. Cheers.
Also, very interesting information from the LOC in regards to the noon start time. What a mess!
How come no one was stopping traffic in that intersection?!

Oh wow! Hopefully lesson learned for next time. That could have been so bad...
