Also appreciative of the coverage, Allison, it is not easy doing it over a time change in the middle of other life going on. I also appreciate your balanced and nuanced coverage of stuff like Fiona O’Keefe. It’s good to hear her thought process and reasoning. I still feel that if properly incentivized, she could have likely pulled the plug prior to the Friday deadline for subbing in a runner in the interest of fielding the best possible team for the race. The fault here is not on O’Keefe either way, she can only work within the system we have got which right now, strongly incentivizes the individual to make every effort to be on that start line.

Thanks so much for your amazing coverage of the Olympics. Also, following your newsletter means that I have a much better knowledge of the US runners (@ this Olympics and the last) than I would have done otherwise. So thanks, it makes it S much more enjoyable when you know the runners. Performances of the Games for me was our Rhasidat Adeleke qualifying for the 400m final - the first Irish woman ever in a sprint final! - and finishing 4th. And our women's 4x400m also getting into a final and finishing an agonising close 4th against powerhouses like USA, UK & the Netherlands. Not bad for a country of under 6m! 🇮🇪⭐
