Thank you for sharing Rachael’s story! I’ve met her several times and know many of her amazing teammates. Reading her full story brought me to tears several times. I’ll add that Rachael is also one of the most joyful, boisterous, and fun people to be around, with an infectious and uplifting energy for anyone lucky enough to meet her. Go Rachael!
I have watched Rachael’s meteoric rise over the last 3 months starting with the Horsetooth Half-marathon as I lived in northern Colorado until a month ago. I knew something had changed when she ran 1:12 on that very hilly difficult course at 5,000 ft! I was honestly shocked. That is easily a 1:07 - 1:08 on a flat sea-level course. It's been a joy to watch her and even more exciting to see her realize her potential. I vaguely knew she had dealt with some adversity in her college years but after reading the story WOW she has been through SO much. First of all how brave is she to share such a personal story. I have met her and briefly talked to her at a few local Colorado races and she is one the nicest and genuine people I have ever met. I am so happy for you Rachael not only for your recent running success but so impressed with your perseverance and courage of battling all those obstacles.
Alison, last week I sent you a DM in Substack about a potential sponsor, as well as a follow-up to your IG DM, but I think you may not have seen either. If you're interested, take a look and I will pass over the details for your follow-up.
What a joy to see the newsletter pop up this morning! But also I echo the closing comments and say take all the time you need.

Absolutely take your time. We’re here and we’ll be here. ♥️
I, too, am so glad you're back. You shine at this!
My wife died 7 years ago. I have a little understanding of what you are going through. Wishing you peace and happiness.
I had gum surgery a few years ago and I was so sick of eating mashed potatoes as my "solid" food, haha. Speedy healing!
You get it! And thank you!
